How Can I Share Nix the Tricks?

Any way you can! With everyone who will listen! But please be respectful of the time and hard work the contributors put into this project and cite properly.

Q: May I send my pdf to other people?

A:  Yes, as long as you don't sell it. The copyright is Attribution - NonCommercial - ShareAlike. The pdf has all of the attribution you need already. You may want to send people to the website (NixTheTricks.com) instead so they can choose the format and read more about the ongoing nature of the project. If you're not sure how to word the email, check out the sample emails to teachers and administrators

Q: The printed version costs money, do I owe you money if I print my own?

A: Absolutely not. The goal is to get this text to as many people as possible. It is free to download and then to read on as many devices as you'd like or to print and read on paper. The version available on Amazon is for those of us who like the feel of a bound book over a stapled packet and never studied book binding.

Q: I want to present the ideas from the book to my department/faculty/district. Do I need special permission to do that?

A: Share away! The copyright is Attribution - NonCommercial - ShareAlike. So long as you aren't paid for the presentation and you properly cite I'm thrilled that you are sharing with a wider audience. Proper citation means including the link (NixTheTricks.com) on every slide/handout that uses material from the book. All of the ideas in the book are certainly not unique to it, but images, direct quotes and ideas you took from the text need to be cited.

Q: I have more questions! What do I do?

A: Email NixTheTricks@gmail.com, tweet @crstn85 or use the feedback question in the form.
